On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competentskilled, and experienced TFA/AAPP Operator to work in Nyansiongo, Nyamira.


Summary
The TFA/APP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the TFA (Tetra Fino Aseptic Machines) or APP (Aseptic Pouch Packaging) systems to ensure the efficient and safe production of products. This role requires adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up TFA (calibration, cleaning, etc.) before starting a production cycle.
  • Check the Cleaning in Progress (CIP) records for the previous shift in the Occurrence Book or log sheet before starting your shift.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, temperature, pressure) for optimal performance. and monitor and control machine performance throughout the production cycle, making necessary adjustments to ensure smooth operation.
  • Feed good quality raw materials or parts into the machines to ensure product consistency and quality and minimize wastage of raw materials during production.
  • Regularly check, clean, and maintain the TFA/APP machines to ensure their smooth operation.
  • Test the operation of machines before production start-up to identify potential issues.
  • Check the output to spot any machine-related mistakes or product flaws.
  • Report any abnormal cases or irregularities to the supervisor immediately
  • Minimize product/packaging material wastage during your shift.
  • Check output to identify any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Keep detailed records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including machine settings, output, and any issues encountered during the shift. Log shift performance in the Occurrence Book and log sheet
  • Adhere to all health and food safety regulations (e.g., proper use of protective gear, constant sanitizing).
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as provided by the Production Manager.
  • Monitor and control machine performance and settings.
  • Ensure the machines are regularly checked and cleaned.
  • Regularly submit performance reports during your shift, logging them in the Occurrence Book and the Log sheet.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma in Dairy Technology, Food Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Previous experience operating TFA (Tetra Fino Aseptic machines) or APP (Aseptic Pouch Packaging) machines in a dairy processing environment.
  • Hands-on experience in UHT (Ultra High Temperature) packaging and filling.
  • Familiarity with Clean in Place (CIP) systems used in dairy production for sanitation and equipment cleaning.
  • Valid food handling certificate
  • Minimum Grade of C+ in Kenya Certificate of Education
  • Minimum of 3 years as a TFA/APP Operator in a milk processing Industry
Skills and Competencies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and fix machine-related issues during production.
  • Knowledge of dairy product quality standards and processing parameters such as temperature control, pressure, and sanitation.
  • Ability to identify and address machine faults, abnormalities in production processes, and deviations from product quality standards.
  • Capacity to troubleshoot CIP systems and ensure cleanliness without disrupting production cycles.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in the dairy industry, ensuring compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols.
  • Ability to work with precision, ensuring adherence to the required product specifications, safety guidelines, and operational processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and work independently when needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays, to meet production demands.
  • Capacity to adapt to new machinery, processes, and technological advancements in dairy production.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the dairy plant located in Nyamira – Nyansiongo (Borabu) Sub-county, or any other specified location.
