On behalf of one of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced. Store Manager for a duty free shop.

 

SUMMARY

The Retail Store Manager (For a duty free Shop) is responsible for all aspects of store operations in the airport branch, including personnel, sales, cash and inventory management, visual merchandising, and store replenishment.  The Store Manager must also consistently provide customers with the highest level of service possible and ensure sales goals and merchandising objectives are consistently achieved.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes and ensures a positive customer service experience through coaching, training, and by acting as a positive role model
  • Assist in recruiting, developing, and motivating the team in accordance with our company values
  • Provide oversight, guidance, direction, and involvement in the daily operations of the store and stockroom
  • Completion and on-time delivery of weekly and monthly sales, payroll, and business reports to discuss during team weekly business review
  • Ensure effective transaction procedures are followed, including managing daily transaction reconciliation and reporting
  • Oversee merchandise receiving and manage store inventory replenishment using operating systems to include weekly cycle counts and negative on-hand reports
  • Ensure compliance with all Tanzania Customs and Airport regulations, as well as OSHA-established safety regulations
  • Build and maintain relationships with Customs, Airport Management, Business Partners, Product Vendors, and other business-related entities
  • Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and processes designed to increase sales, decrease costs, maintain customer service standards, and protect company assets
  • Manage and maintain visual merchandising standards daily
  • Create and adjust staff schedule based on business needs (flight and customer traffic) to manage payroll dollars
  • Secure company assets by following Asset Protection policies and procedures
  • Provide on-going performance counseling to employees and use appropriate progressive disciplinary procedures when necessary

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years retail management or duty free shops
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Demonstrate understanding of company standards and practices related to retail operations, including cash and inventory control, merchandise handling, visual merchandising, and shrink management
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to train and empower employees effectively
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate Excel skills)
