Job Title: General Trade Territory Manager
Division: Marketing & Services

Job Dimensions
  • Deliver Volumes, Margins and Debtors targets for the assigned portfolio as per budget.
  • Top notch customer relationship leading to 100% customer satisfaction
  • Assets under control; Fuel Installations owned by company.

Activities
  • Enforce HSEQ policy by carrying out safety training and audit Fuels installations.
  • Achieve volume and margin targets per customer and determine sales strategies for the segment, balancing between market share and margin.
  • Review business performance on Sales, Margins and Credit for each customer in the portfolio periodically. Analyze and make timely recommendations basis business environment.
  • Prospection: Pro-active and aggressive prospection of new customers in assigned customer segment and analyzing new market opportunities (new entrants,)
  • Ensure all customers have signed product supply contracts.
  • Vet all new customer applications for credit facilities. Determine initial credit terms. Periodically review credit terms for all accounts.
  • Understand customer technical needs and match with Total product offering.
  • Ensure company investments meet the groups IRRMA and payback parameters by carrying out investments justification and continuous evaluation as well as recommend retrievals/relocation of idle or non-performing equipment.
  • Provide market statistics, intelligence, and developments for purpose of strategy development and planning and reports preparation, and updates on SALSA.
  • Resolve customer complaints, disputes, and enquiries promptly for the assigned customer segment.

Context and Environment
  • The job holder exercises autonomy in making decisions that are geared towards achievement of set objectives and consults the General Trade Manager - for guidance and work progress review.
  • Frequent interaction with other sections and their managers: Customer service, Sales Admin, Maintenance, Operations and Logistics to facilitate supplies and efficient services to customers through resolving arising issues.
  • Maintaining Sales profitability (market share and margins) in a very competitive environment.
  • Dealing with debt delinquency increased by the overall judicial and economic environment.
  • Heavily involved in day-to-day management of assigned segment customers to maintain loyalty in a competitive business environment.
  • Constantly on field visits to customers to maintain positive business relations and generate new business to meet budget objective

Accountabilities
  • The purpose of the job is to maintain, grow sales volumes and margins in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ensure that customers operate within credit terms and account receivables are paid on time.
  • New accounts development, credit risk management and optimization of assets.

Qualifications/Experience required
  • University degree with a bias in Business or Engineering.
  • 4 years’ work experience in a busy commercial environment
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Dynamic and self-driven individual with ability to deliver stretching targets with minimal supervision. Good analytical skills
  • Excellent relation skills with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of credit risk management and business evaluation
