Job summary:
To attract, develop and retain a skilled and motivated employee base that will drive the business to achieve its strategic objectives
Key Responsibilities/ Tasks
A. Financial- Support HRA's strategic contribution to the Business unit by providing effective leadership, Business Partnering, talent acquisition and management.
- Deploy initiatives to increase employee satisfaction, productivity, retention, and effective communication at all levels
- Drive the Business Unit ER agenda and lead/support relationships and key processes with social partners.
B. Customer
- Champion the creation of a conducive environment for the promotion of active employee voice.
- Champion employee wellness initiative in the Business Unit
- Ensure Employees are aligned with the departments and organisational strategic goals
- Coordinate monthly interdepartmental meetings and engagement meetings to increase team satisfaction.
C. Internal Business Processes
- create policies that enhance talent management, resourcing, and career management.

- Implement and keep relevant a HRMIS ERP system that processes and stores Payroll, employee information and other HRA function data and information.
D. Learning and Growth
- Support managers in developing a robust Business Continuity Plan
- Coordinate development of Business Unit training matrix and succession planning

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management
- Professional HR Certification
Essential
- 3+ years’ experience carrying out HR general functions at the supervisor level.
- Highly detailed oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Experience in working with Human Resource Management Information Systems
- Experience in Logistics or transport organizations
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Ability to deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
- Strong Microsoft Office and G Suite skills with the ability to learn new tech-based platforms and solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Ugandan labor law.
- Fluent English both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in other languages spoken in Uganda.
