Position Name: Business Development Manager

Company Overview
Brij Fintech is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team in Rwanda. As the Head of Business, you will be responsible for onboarding cross border merchants, driving revenue growth, Grassroot Sales approach and leading our expansion efforts in the fast-paced and innovative fintech space that is shaping the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Merchant Onboarding
  • Identify and Profile Cross-border Merchants, merchants who trade across Africa.
  • Grassroot merchant engagement and sign-up.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships and market expansion initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities and customer needs to adjust business strategies as needed.

      Revenue Generation
  • Drive revenue growth through the development and execution of go-to-market strategies and sales initiatives.

      Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team to achieve company objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners and regulators.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Report to senior management on business performance, opportunities and challenges.
 Regulatory Engagement
  • Liase with National Bank of Rwanda and other regulatory agencies from time to time

Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • At least 4 years of experience preferably within fintech, financial services, or technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of market dynamics, regulatory environment and business operations within the fintech sector.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities.
