Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

About: Our client is an international company operating in the retail sector/industry (supermarkets) seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) responsible for the good administrative and financial management of the company. He will control the proper execution of the strategy and procedures defined with the general management, ensures the good profitability of the company and coordinates the services for which he will be responsible.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of the teams in charge of the following activities.
  • Accounting
  • Treasury
  • Taxation
  • Management Control
  • General services.
Administrative management
  • Participates in the choice of strategy and its implementation, ensuring economic profitability and transmitting its analysis
  • Defined the main orientations of the control systems in conjunction with the group.
  • Implements the management and optimization procedures, and the indicators necessary to monitor activities and to compile reports to the management and the group.
  • Is in charge of the organization of meetings, boards of directors and legal meetings.
Accounting, management control, reporting
  • Guarantees the reliability of the company’s accounts and the preparation of financial and accounting documents in compliance with the legislation.
  • Is in charge of relations with the tax, social, administrations and legal auditors.
  • Oversees the consolidation of financial data and enforces accounting standards.
  • Supervises management control in his/her missions and the preparation of results.
  • Develops the company’s plan and budget in accordance with the strategic choices of the general management and the group.
Treasury, credit, collections, banking relationships
  • Develops the company’s financing plans and validates the cash flow budgets that meet the needs of the external financing conjunction with the group’s treasury departments.
  • Monitors the cash flow situation, analyzes the variances observed compared to forecasts.
  • Defines and monitors the credit policy in collaboration with the sales department.
  • Seeks the assistance of banks and investors, adapts assets under management to changes in the financial markets in connection with the group’s treasury services.
  • Manages movable and immovable assets.
Management of general services
  • Supervises calls for tenders of all kinds related to the activity.
  • Manages the purchasing policy and manages the opening of accounts with suppliers.
  • Supervises the company’s insurance contracts of all kinds and insures in conjunction with the management of the guarantees subscribed to.
Compliance
  • Is the group’s compliance referent within the framework of the “Sapin 2” law
  •  Implements the related compliance and accounting control procedures within the company.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or any related field
  • CPA, ACCA is a must
  • Interpersonal skills allowing to exchange with different interlocutors (HR, Goods, Operations, Management).
  • Rigorous, very good interpersonal with an open mind, autonomous, adaptable, organized, methodical, and responsive.
  • Good understanding of the retail business in a competitive and dynamic environment.
  • Leadership, strength of proposal, ability to supervise and sense of priorities.
  • Experience in Rwanda
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Retail experience desired
  • Bilingual French / English
