On behalf of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced SCM & Exports manager – Africa (Based in Tanzania).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall Export strategy and operations around the globe to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. In addition, they play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and partners.
- Responsible for managing all Company Global Exports to maximize efficiency and productivity. He/she will be working closely with the sales and partnership teams.
- Coordinate outbound shipments from all Company manufacturing hubs in East Africa. Key Focus on Tanzania
- Assist customers on logistics related issues and review documentations for correctness and request corrections where applicable.
- Review and reconcile partner’s inventory balance with the production team.
- Follow up with manufacturing partners on outstanding reimbursable invoices and forward invoices to SC Africa Leader for payment processing.
- Attend monthly operations meetings with manufacturing partners and actively seek ways to improve shipping processes: reduction of lead time from production to dispatch.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customers, couriers, and other operational departments.
- Monitor export, local deliveries and maintain accurate logs of all transportation and orders from manufacturing partner locations.
- Ensure that quality assurance checks are completed and maintained for all orders going out of the Tanzania hub.
- Organize personnel to ensure priority for Company skus at manufacturers location, terminal, or freight forwarders, and assist with training as required.
- Obtain best freight quotes on outbound and inbound goods.
- Maintain relationships between Company, manufacturing partners, regulators, shipping line and other players in the shipping ecosystem.
- Support sales associates on logistics related issues
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5 -7 years’ experience in Supply chain/Exports with focus on international shipping/Exports and stock management.
- Must be organized and logical, willing to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures.
- Must be able to efficiently solve problems relating to logistics, sales, and transportation of goods in locations both national and overseas.
- A good understanding of customs regulations within East Africa is an added advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships.
- Sense of ownership and pride in individual performance and its impact on company success.
- Willing to travel 20 -30% of the time
