Purpose of the job
Engineering, Maintenance & Site Operations department is mandated to oversee the execution of local preventive maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, clean & black utilities, laboratory equipment and facilities at the mRNA-based vaccine manufacturing site. Also, it handles projects, equipment/systems commissioning & qualification, process automation, calibration, and site operations in line with cGxP principles.
The Hygiene Specialist is responsible for site hygiene management, pest control, waste management, personnel training, developing and updating hygiene documentation, participating in audits, among other duties. The person will ensure total compliance with international and national standards as stipulated in the relevant codes.

Main responsibilities  
 
  • Manage cleaning and disinfection activities in all areas at site including but not limited to cleanrooms, controlled areas and office areas in line with standing procedures.
  • Ensure availability of effective Pest Control systems in all controlled and high-risk areas at site.
  • Ensure waste management schemes are implemented effectively, and legal requirements are upheld.
  • Oversee the collection of waste from all working areas for storage at designated areas to prevent contamination of air, land or water.
  • Develop, revise, and review industrial hygiene procedures.
  • Develops and presents industrial hygiene training programs at Site.
  • Execution of hygiene related training of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide advanced technical support and mentoring to the industrial hygiene professionals on sampling methods, interpretation of monitoring results, and procedures.
  • Perform internal audits and assessments of industrial hygiene program elements. Evaluate results of internal/external compliance audits and inspections, prepare responses to outside audits, and develop corrective actions.
  • Serve as the Industrial Hygiene Subject Matter Expert (SME) at the mRNA-based vaccine manufacturing site.
  • Conduct indoor environment quality surveys or assessments of systems.
  • Prepare written reports of survey findings based on observations, interviews, and laboratory analysis of samples.
  • Responsible for the management of service providers and suppliers (including cleaning companies for laboratories and cleanrooms as well as for pest control and cleanroom garment laundry.
  • Contact person for any internal hygiene findings and development of solution-oriented measures (local guidelines and regulations) as well as continuous improvement of hygiene processes
  • Recommends precautions and corrective actions that should be taken in response to identified hazards.
  • Create and present reports regarding the work environment.
  • Participate in internal and regulated quality audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Line Manager.
Work Experience, Skills, and Abilities
           
Educational level
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology/Biology/Occupational Health & Safety/Industrial Hygiene/Environmental Science/
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene/Public Health.


Professional experiences/Knowledge

  • 3 years working experience in GMP regulated environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety and health hazards.
  • Ability to identify potential health and safety risks.
  • Excellent command of English Language, written and verbal.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to address Manufacturing hygiene issues with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • High level of commitment, resilience, and flexibility.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team.
  • Self-motivated work attitude.
