Job Purpose:
Key Responsibilities and Job Dimensions
- Responsible for supporting and enhancing the master planning and architectural design capability in UDL Projects
- Develop and provide creative design inputs in to master planning projects as well as developing building conceptual designs as required by specific project briefs.
- Create building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications
- Liaise with construction professionals about the feasibility of potential projects
- Work around constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget
- Work closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and architectural technologists
- Write and presenting reports, proposals, applications and contracts
- Adapt plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction
Decision Making/ Job Influence
The role makes decision for the UDL on project timelines, resource allocation and implementation of programs.
Working Conditions
The role is not exposed to contaminants and hazardous conditions
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills)
Academic Qualifications
- A degree in Architecture from an accredited university
- Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
- Be a member of the Architects Registration Board
- Previous relevant work experience required
- 7 years professional work experience through all phases of design, documentation and construction administration
- Experience with ground up design and construction on institutional, cultural and high-end residential building
