As the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s competitiveness, efficiency, and ability to meet customer demands, requiring a proactive and strategic approach to supply chain management.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic supply chain initiatives aligned with organizational goals, ensuring optimal procurement, production, and distribution strategies.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of goods.
- Inventory Optimization: Analyse inventory levels, demand forecasts, and lead efforts to optimize inventory management, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring sufficient supply.
- Logistics Management: Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes to streamline logistics operations, reduce lead times, and optimize costs.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the supply chain, and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, shortages, and quality issues, by implementing robust risk management strategies and contingency plans.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, finance, and manufacturing to align supply chain strategies with business objectives and customer demand.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supply chain performance, analyse trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications can be advantageous.
- Proven experience of 5 years in supply chain management, with a track record of implementing successful supply chain strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive process improvements and optimize supply chain operations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, logistics, and inventory management best practices.
