Job Title: Communication officer
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Job purpose: The Communications officer will support by creating and managing media materials, including press releases and visual content, to communicate programs and initiatives effectively. This involves coordinating internal and external communications, managing social media strategies, and maintaining the website. The Staff will also assist in event communications and track performance metrics to optimize engagement and outreach efforts, ensuring that messaging aligns with its goals and enhances its presence in the banking sector.
Key responsibilities
• Create high-quality media materials, including fact sheets, press releases, and visual content, to promote initiatives and enhance its public image.
• Support and improve internal communication by managing digital signage and other platforms.
• Manage internal social media strategy and tactics.
• Create visual aids, graphics, brochures, and flyers.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of a targeted social media campaign.
• Managing all social media platforms and monitoring engagement.
• Assist in updating and managing RBA’s website content, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Assist with basic website troubleshooting and collaborate with the IT team for technical issues.
• Track and report on KPIs related to digital communications efforts.
• Provide insights on engagement, growth, and campaign success.
Responsibilities
• Number of media materials (press releases, fact sheets, brochures) created and published within a specified timeframe.
• Frequency and accuracy of website updates, measured by the number of new content uploads and corrections made.
• Timeliness and effectiveness of communication plans for events, assessed through stakeholder feedback.
•Improvement in key metrics (e.g. website traffic, social media engagement) following the implementation of strategies based on analysis.
• Frequency of updates to internal communication platforms and feedback from team members on the clarity and usefulness of communications.
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in communication, Marketing or Software development.
• Experience with website CMS.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and social management tools.
• Ability to create and edit visual content (Canva, Adobe Illustrator or similar tools).
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS is advantageous.
• Proficiency in website content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Drupal
